1. Agreement
These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to the Liberty Lock website and any Liberty Lock application or related service that Liberty Lock Corp. ("Liberty Lock," "we," "us," or "our") makes available (together, the "Services"). By using a Service, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Services.
3. Product Status and Scope
The Liberty Lock mobile product is in development. Website descriptions, diagrams, and technical materials explain design goals and conceptual architecture unless expressly identified as an available, verified feature. They are not a promise that a capability, launch date, platform, performance level, security property, or recovery method is available.
Liberty Lock is a personal privacy tool. It is not a digital-asset wallet, emergency service, legal service, or substitute for professional security advice. You are responsible for deciding whether any available Service is appropriate for your circumstances.
4. License and Use
If Liberty Lock makes an application available, and subject to these Terms and applicable platform rules, Liberty Lock grants you a limited, personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, non-sublicensable, and revocable right to install and use it on compatible devices you own or control. No right is granted to use the Services for resale or to provide a competing hosted service.
5. Accounts and Access
Some future features may require an account. If accounts are offered, you must provide accurate information, protect your credentials and devices, and promptly notify us at office@libertylock.com if you reasonably believe an account has been compromised. You are responsible for activity conducted through your account except to the extent caused by Liberty Lock’s breach of these Terms or applicable law.
6. User Responsibilities
You are responsible for configuring and using the Services, maintaining appropriate device security and independent copies of information you cannot afford to lose, and safeguarding passwords, device credentials, keys, and recovery material. Privacy controls can affect what information is available through a particular access state; review your configuration and understand the recovery limitations before relying on it.
7. Acceptable Use
You may not misuse the Services or help another person do so. In particular, you may not:
- Use the Services in violation of law or the rights of another person
- Probe, disrupt, overload, bypass, or interfere with a Service or its security and access controls
- Access or attempt to access another person’s account, device, information, or systems without authorization
- Distribute malware, abusive traffic, deceptive content, or material that facilitates harm
- Reverse engineer or extract source code except to the limited extent a restriction is prohibited by applicable law
- Misrepresent Liberty Lock, the availability of a feature, or the security properties of the Services
8. Intellectual Property and Feedback
The Services, including their software, visual design, documentation, trademarks, and other materials, are owned by Liberty Lock or its licensors and are protected by applicable intellectual-property laws. Except for the limited right to use an available Service under these Terms, no rights are transferred to you. If you provide feedback, you authorize Liberty Lock to use it without restriction or compensation, but you are not required to provide feedback.
9. Platforms and Third-Party Services
The Services may depend on operating systems, app stores, hosting providers, communications services, or other third-party products. Third parties may apply their own terms and privacy practices, and their products may change or become unavailable. Liberty Lock is not responsible for third-party products or for circumstances outside its reasonable control.
10. Privacy
Our Privacy Policy explains how Liberty Lock handles personal information. Product architecture is intended to limit service access to protected content, but implementation details remain design targets until the mobile product is released and documented.
11. Availability and Service Changes
We may add, modify, suspend, or discontinue a Service or feature. We do not promise that a Service will always be available, compatible with every device, or free from interruption. If an available change materially affects an existing paid offering, any notice or remedy will be provided as required by the applicable offering terms and law.
12. Suspension and Termination
You may stop using a Service at any time. We may restrict or terminate access when reasonably necessary to address a Terms violation, security or legal risk, harm to another person, or discontinuation of a Service. Where appropriate and legally permitted, we will consider the nature of the issue and whether notice or an opportunity to remedy it is reasonable. Provisions that by their nature should survive termination will continue to apply.
13. Disclaimers
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, THE SERVICES ARE PROVIDED “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE.” LIBERTY LOCK DISCLAIMS IMPLIED WARRANTIES, INCLUDING MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, TITLE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT.
We do not warrant that the Services will be uninterrupted, error-free, completely secure, or suitable for a particular high-risk, legal, regulatory, or safety-critical context. Some jurisdictions do not allow certain warranty exclusions, so parts of this section may not apply to you.
14. Limitation of Liability
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, LIBERTY LOCK AND ITS DIRECTORS, OFFICERS, EMPLOYEES, AFFILIATES, AND LICENSORS WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, EXEMPLARY, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR FOR LOSS OF DATA, PROFITS, REVENUE, GOODWILL, OR BUSINESS OPPORTUNITY, ARISING FROM OR RELATED TO THE SERVICES, EVEN IF ADVISED THAT SUCH DAMAGES WERE POSSIBLE.
Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability where doing so would be unlawful. Rights and remedies available under mandatory consumer-protection law remain unaffected.
15. Governing Law and Disputes
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of New York, without regard to conflict-of-law principles. Subject to any rights or forums that applicable consumer law does not permit you to waive, disputes relating to these Terms or the Services will be brought in the state or federal courts located in New York County, New York.
16. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms to reflect changes to the Services, law, or our operations. The revised Terms will identify their effective date. If a change materially affects an existing Service, we will provide any additional notice required by law. Your continued use after revised Terms become effective constitutes acceptance where permitted by law.
